Who We Fund
For FY 25-26, we are looking to provide grants to NGOs that meet the following criteria:
Geographical Scope: We primarily fund organizations working in Maharashtra.
Focus Areas: We support projects and initiatives in:
- Animal Welfare
- Disability Inclusion
Compliance Requirements: 80G Certification and 12A Certification
We are currently accepting proposals only for one-year projects (FY 2025-26) with a maximum funding limit of INR 25 Lakhs.
What We Fund
We believe in offering flexible support that enables organizations to sustain and scale their impact. Our funding includes:
- Programmatic Funding – Supporting specific projects and initiatives. (Examples: Expanding an animal rescue program, launching a new assistive technology initiative for people with disabilities.)
- Salaries and Operational Costs – Ensuring that teams have the stability to focus on their mission. (Examples: Covering salaries for frontline animal caregivers, hiring a sign language interpreter for an inclusive education project.)
- Administrative and Overhead Expenses – Covering essential non-programmatic costs. (Examples: Office rent and utilities for an animal shelter, compliance and legal costs for a disability rights organization.)
- Capacity Building Support – Strengthening organizations for long-term sustainability. (Examples: Leadership training for NGO staff, digital fundraising workshops for disability and animal welfare organizations.)

1) Review Eligibility
Ensure your organization aligns with our focus areas and geographical criteria.
2) Download & Complete Proposal Format

- We accept proposals in English, Hindi and Marathi. If you need language support to complete your application, write to contact@upadhyayafoundation.org.
- Fill in the document with all necessary details. Kindly do not attach any photos to the proposal.

3) Prepare Required Documents
Before beginning your application, keep the following documents and information ready:
- Organization details (name, founder information, location, etc.)
- Completed Proposal
- 80G Certificate
- 12A Certificate
- PAN Card
- Latest Audited Financial Statement (optional for organizations operational for less than one year)
- Annual Expenditure for FY 2023-24
4) Fill Out the Grant Application Form
- Open the online form [HERE]
- Upload your completed proposal document.
- Complete all required fields and submit your application by 11:59 PM on 21 March, 2025.
- Once submitted, you should receive a confirmation message within 24 hours. If you don’t get one, please email us at contact@upadhyayafoundation.org to ensure we received your application.
5) Application Review & Timeline
- Once submitted, our team will review your application.
- The review process typically takes 2-3 weeks.
- Shortlisted organizations will be contacted for field visits and further discussion.

Can we apply if we are a new or small NGO?
Yes! We encourage applications from all organizations within the purview of our eligibility. If you meet our eligibility criteria and have a clear, impactful proposal, we welcome your application.
If my application is unsuccessful, can I reapply?
Yes, you are welcome to reapply in future grant cycles. If your proposal is not selected, we encourage you to reach out for feedback before reapplying.
